The Resilient Vermont Conference is next Tuesday, March 19 from 8:30am to 5:00pm at Norwich University! We encourage all members of the Norwich community, including students, faculty and staff to participate in a day of panel discussions and workshops. Registration is open until March 17. This year, we are excited to collaborate with our partner and sponsor, University of Vermont’s Leahy Institute for Rural Partnerships.
This year’s Resilient Vermont Conference, “After the Flood,” will emphasize a human-centered perspective on developing resilience in the face of natural disasters. The featured panelists will explore how human health, communities and other social systems are affected by the changes in our physical systems and infrastructure. We hope that this alternative perspective will complement and enhance the engineering and ecological assessments of Vermont’s recovery efforts after the flooding in the summer of 2023. Another goal of this year’s conference is to help conference attendees prioritize and innovate ways to strengthen personal and community resilience in the face of future shocks.
